Image What a Rope Maui weekend April 11th - 13th was at Piiholo! I want to thank all of you who participated.  While Friday and Saturday's URP roping offered some good roping, decent fast times and great awards, Sunday's all prizes Trailer Shootout was one of the most exciting ropings ever held on Maui.  Everyone brought their best game and roped their hearts out.  What a great day.  I am already excited thinking of how we are going to beat this event in 2009!

Congratulations to Guy Kahaleauki and Brad Apo on winning the two Trails West Adventure grand prize horse trailers.  Out of 112 teams you guys did an awesome job. My congratulations also go out to our second through fifth place winners.  In second place and winning Rope Maui Martin saddles was the team of Cole Hendrickson and Melvin Joseph.  Third place buckles went to Cole Hendrickson and Marcus Laymon while the team of Gilbert Souza and Alan Mendes took home fourth place and Rope Maui leather rope bags.  Gist knives were awarded to our fifth place team of Desiree Boteilho and Buzzy Sproat.   For the day's overall results click here.

Mahalo everyone.  Thanks also to Hawaii High School Rodeo - Maui District for setting up and maintaining our food concession.  The food and goodies were ono.

Our next event is Rope Maui's second URP roping of 2008 and will take place on June 28, and 29.  Tell your friends to come out to Piiholo and rope. Please feel free to call me or e-mail me if you have any questions.  I can be reached at 357-0154 or 575-2836.
